The Mahogany Hyper Boat

The Centomiglia project was born from a deep conviction: wood — a natural material with extraordinary qualities — is the ideal choice for building luxury boats capable of delivering exceptional performance.
Although wooden boats are widely admired for their elegance, many still consider them heavy, technologically outdated, and demanding in terms of maintenance.
A Glisenti yacht, however, is lighter, stiffer, and more durable than a fiberglass boat of the same size. As a result, navigation becomes safer, faster, and far more exhilarating.

Design

Flowing Curves and Complex Engineering

The Centomiglia’s design is a perfect balance of elegance and power.
Its flowing curves enhance the beauty of the mahogany surfaces, reflecting light in a way that creates a sense of motion even while at rest. The exceptionally complex shape requires a level of craftsmanship reminiscent of a bygone era.
To preserve the purity and harmony of the lines, Glisenti adopted a cutting-edge engineering solution: the surface drive transmission is fully integrated into the hull structure. This choice maintains the clean aesthetic of the stern while delivering unprecedented torsional rigidity, allowing the full torque of the propulsion system to be transferred safely and efficiently into the water with maximum stability.
Thanks to the use of advanced materials and innovative structural solutions, Centomiglia represents the state of the art in wooden boat construction.
The structure is composed of an intricate assembly of premium mahogany elements. The hull features two layers of high-performance laminated marine plywood: the first layer is mechanically fastened and bonded to the structure, while the second is vacuum-bonded. This technique eliminates all external perforations, creating a monolithic, watertight hull free from structural weak points.

Centomiglia: Tradition and Tribute

The name “Centomiglia” pays homage to the historic Lake Como powerboat race, originally contested around the entire perimeter of the lake — a legendary post-war arena where shipyards, designers, and craftsmen competed, becoming the pioneers of Italian boating excellence.
Great masters to whom we felt a duty to pay tribute.
